Catherine Oxenberg in the role of her grandmother, Princess Olga
Belgrade, Serbia - Serbian Princess, Catherine Oxenberg, is going to make a film in Serbia about her grandfather, Prince Paul. Accompanied by her husband, actor Casper Van Dien, Catherine has arrived in Serbia couple of days ago for 'ground probing' and evaluation of technical possibilities that Serbia can offer for realization of this artistic and, above all, historical project, intended to tell the true story about the decades’ disputed personality appertaining to the Serbian history: "We hope that Pink Company film studio in Belgrade will fulfill our expectations, as well as that there will be interests shown in co-production", Catherine said in the exclusive interview for the Serbian magazine Press.
Catherine’s husband, Casper, would play the role of Prince Paul, Catherine her grandmother’s Olga part, and her daughter Maya that of her grandmamma, Princess Elisabeth: "So, two granddaughters will do their grandmothers’ parts. Maya admitted to be quite nervous about the role, which was her father’s idea. He said that nobody has done such a thing so far, to play her own grandmother".
Catherine is of an opinion that is the moral obligation of hers to assist her mother, Elisabeth, in her endeavor to clear her father’s name, especially because "he was a great man".
When asked whether she felt like a princess, she replied: "You don’t need the royal blood to feel like that. I felt sublime and blessed whole my life. A princess is any person capable of being the master of her own heart and soul."
The actress owns Serbian passport, although she doesn’t speak the Serbian language: "A customs officer addressed me in Serbian, but I couldn’t understand a thing. Then he yelled asking me how come that I had the Serbian passport and didn’t speak any Serbian. I replied that I had just started learning the language. For now, I know just five words: good afternoon, good morning, good evening, cat and thank you". Back to Dynasty News
