Full Version: Blood and Oil is back!
Ultimate Dynasty > Ultimate Dynasty Forum > Dynasty

It was the 1980s. Ronald Regan was President, the economy was booming, and "Dynasty" was the most watched television series in the world.

2004. Blake Carrington is under investigation for his involvement in gunrunning, terrorism, bribery, and murder. Alexis Colby is hell-bent on bringing him to his knees and will stop at nothing to ruin him. The oil industry is in the midst of turmoil with price fixing, inflated rates around the world, high drilling costs, and the fact that we are running out as a global supply! War in the Middle East looms overhead and there is nothing but trouble on the horizon.

The Carringtons and the Colbys are at each others throats once again. Amid the backdrop of high finance and high fashion, romance, danger, deceit, high stakes corporate wheeling and dealing, drama, and all the wet, muddy catfights you can stand, "Dynasty: Blood and Oil" returns!

See all Eleven original episodes once again, and await the premier of the new season on September 1, 2004.

Dynasty is back, and this time it's done right.

You are always welcome to put up info on your work.

Okay, so I've been wondering about this whole blood and oil thing and I read it. But I can't believe because whoever wrote it has no sense of past, present and future tense in writing. They are all scrambled together.
ss9
But the story is so complex and the characters so realistic, and love the way they have developed the children each having different but equally compelling mixtures of colby and carrington. And they Have real baddies, who are just sooooooo evil, i want to scratch catherine's eyes out most the time you get so involved with the characters, and besides the story isn't written in script format but more like a novel so mixture of time frames is allowed it keeps the pace of the story moving. Long may it continue, the skill is in the detail. Fab work Forever Fallon

Well, I am surprised by your reaction. Anyone who purports to be from "Merrie Ol'," would not so easily forgive such crimes against the English language.

An excerpt from the very first episode of "BO:"

Krystle put her brush down and stood up and crossed the room over to him. She placed her hands on his shoulders, and smiled. Blake looks into her bright blue eyes and says, "I have worked hard, Krystle. Today is that luncheon at La Mirage, the Mountain States Oil Producer of the Year. Amazingly enough, they have awarded me the recipient."

So...I am led to believe that Krystle is in the past tense and Blake is in the present tense? Well, I know Bad English when I see it. Okay, maybe the plot of BO is good, but it is agonizingly over-written and impossible to follow. TNG used to be that way, too, but now I'm working there.

Who cares, Ethan?

Wow. Nice and to the point. We appreciate the criticism and the construction behind it. Let's keep in mind that the episode and the writing you, Ethan, pointed out, found itself on line about three years ago. Where were you three years ago? Where was your writing and your contribution to Dynasty three years ago? I'm not picking on you, of course, just asking a question.

This is supposed to be fun for everyone. Dynasty has been long gone and off the air for a very long time. None of us can ever hope to resurrect any of the Carringtons or the Colbys. So sit down, relax, concentrate on your own contribution and your own skills and talent and let others do the same.

We at the Blood and Oil Camp have yet to point out your shortcomings or faults. We won't do it. I won't do it. As I have written, this is about fun and having a great time and projecting what one would imagine would bring us in the future. Be nice, be well, and be good at what you do.

I am.

Hear hear! Oh and Ethan don;t refer to my country as Merry Ole again, unless you'd like me to resurrect the 'colonies' phrase? thanks ss9. Oh and FF i love your story please keep doing it i can;t wait to see what the evil colonel will do next?
Ethan Riley
ss9: I didn't refer to England as "Merry Ole." I referred to it as "Merrie Ol'."

So, Fallon, what you're saying is that 3 years ago, nobody knew anything about the English language, and therefore I must forgive them for shoddy writing?

Where was I three years ago? I was writing Passions fanfics. *insert snickers here.* Oh, and by the way, Fallon, you can't point out the "shortcomings and faults" in my writing, because there aren't any.

I notice you refer to yourselves as the "Blood and Oil CAMP." That implies some sort of militaristic agitation between the 2 fanfics. That's fine, because you guys pretty much declared the war, by posting disparaging comments about TNG, and by association, my participation in it. So it amuses me that all of the sudden I have to made out to be the aggressor, when in fact, I am the victim and am defending myself. I never did a damn thing to any of you, and particularly Herbert Hensley, but of course he has no trouble throwing our friendship away, sending me threatening emails and posting anti-TNG trash under other people's names.

So, maybe I'd feel a little friendlier towards all of you if you'd be so bold as to post here under your real names, because I know damn well that all in your "camp" post under multiple names, and carry on conversations with yourselves. Bizarre!

Look, you guys declared war on TNG and don't expect me not to fight back. And don't tell me again that this all isn't within "the spirit of Dynasty," because Dynasty was all about back-stabbing and bitchery. I hope you're all enjoying acting out your fantasies.

Oh, and don't sit there on your high horses telling people how much better BO is than TNG, when in fact, it's probably just even.

Umm sos to dissapoint but i really don;t think a fan fic is so important that people would take on multiple identies just to make silly digs. Personally i like both TNG and B&O, and enjoy reading every new episode, i just wish that more writing was getting done instead of bitching. So come ethan put the rapier wit to proper use on the page not in the forum.

I haveto agree with SS9 - I loved reading Blood & Oil and also love reading TNG. Is the summer heat getting to you all? Please realise that we Dynasty fans don't just stick to one camp - I'm sure most of us just love reading any fanfics and both of these are great - don't lose sleep over it - you still have your fans!

I think we should applaud anyone who has the guts, takes the time and effort to write a story about Dynasty for us all to enjoy!!!!! biggrin.gif  Not to knock them down.

Ethan, attacking a competing fan fic especially such a popular one as Blood and Oil makes you only look small and nasty. Honestly I find you guys at TNG, the way you fight each other in public, the way you attack other fan fics, your arrogant comments simply annoying. I'm sure other people feel similar. Some people just don't know when it's in their own interest to be silent because like I wouldn't read a book by an author I don't like I won't read a fan fic by somebody as disconcerting as you.

I want to clear something here: TNG's team members never attacked each other in public. We always got along, even if we had diffrences here and there. We never attacked other fan fic - the only person who began with this was a former TNG's writer who joined other fan fic recenlty and is trying to torn the Dynasty community into two camps. Well, we are sorry that this person isn't mature enough to go on with his life and his fan fic without attacking others and insulting us. The TNG members never attacked this guy or other guys in public. We wish to all the other Dynasty's fan fics good luck. No hard feelings, at least not in TNG.
