I was hoping that somebody could tell me why certain actors left. I am watching on SoapNet now, but didn't watch back then. The actors that I am interested in are Pamela Sue Martin, Diahann Carroll, and Catherine Oxenberg? Does anybody know the behind the scene info from back then?

To the best of my knowledge, Pamela Sue Martin left Dynasty because she wanted to move away from Hollywood - did not want to act anymore at that time.

Catherine Oxenberg, I believe, was booted from the show because of a salary dispute - that's why she was replaced by the horrific Karen Cellini or whatever her name is (frighteningly bad).

As far as Dominique, not sure what was behind that.

Diahann Carroll was to have joined The Colbys as a full-time regular for it's 3rd season, however, it was cancelled.

There were rumors she would return in the last season of Dynasty or the following, but these failed to be realized.

Dominique might have saved the Colbys. A shame she never returned for the final Dynasty season. She, like Claudia and unlike Amanda was hugely missed.

Aparently Catherine oxenburg demanded the same sallery as Linda Evans and Joan Collins etc. But what on earth made her think she was worth that is anyone guess. She was a truly awful actress and threatened not to come back right after filming the final with her still in the hotel as the fire took hold. The writers simply recast her with the superious Karen Cellini to write the charactor out prooperly. Catherine must have thought the show would have to adhere to her demands to wrap up the charactor, but haha they had the last laugh.

pamela Sue Martin as others have said left to make films. Joan Collins recently bitched about her in an interview for the show "After Dynasty" saying that she warned her not to leave but she didn't listen and then bitcherly said "and what films has she been in".

LOL you really don't like Catherine Oxenburg do you? I can't say i like her that much, however she didn't demand the same as Joan and Linda, she asked for an extra $2,500 a week, but was turned down and you know the rest.

LOL. I really didin't like her at all. She was the Fallon replacement and was so so poor. No wonder they recast Fallon and brought the charactor back. Catherine Oxenburg only fitted into the nice dresses and not the show itself. She was like a barbie doll with no charisma. I know i sound harsh but she really was the worst actress on the show.

And i certainly wouldn't have paid her what they originally paid her let alone an extra amount.
