I do know that sounds a very bizarre question but, before Dynasty, yes Joan Collins had made a number of films and starred alongside some of the best known actors.

But for me i didn't like her in anything, i watched the Bitch and the Stud and other films but nothing made me like her as an actress.

When she did Dynasty again i wasn't to keen on her playing the role of Alexis originally, but the character of Alexis i loved, even though Joan was the one playing her, and a actress i didn't like watching.

Is there anybody who didn't like a certain actor/actress but adored there character in Dynasty.

I'm not a huge J.C fan,but I don't think anybody else could have played the part of alexis as well as her,not with such bite and venom. I can't believe I posted on something without mentioning John Forsythe (ooops i just did )

Yes, before Dynasty Joan had made quite a few films with some very well known and famous leading men.

When I watched the first episode of Dynasty I hated it, and didn't watch it again until Joan's first episode. Before her arrival, it lacked everything and didn't deserve a place in the network charts, but Joan's portrayal of Alexis was perfect to rival JR in Dallas, and nobody could have played the role better than her.

Regarding her films, try watching The Girl in The Red Velvet Swing, Rally Round The Flag Boys or Quest for Love.

Besides from Dynasty, I loved Joan in her miniseries "Sins" that she made during a break from Dynasty in 1986.

Recently I saw Joan in "An Evening with Joan Collins" in Croydon and Oxford, and will see her in Canada in October when she starts touring with Linda in "Legends". I think she is the most amazing woman, and a fantastic actress. I cant wait to see her again in October !

I'll be honest. I never heard of JC before Dynasty. LOL!! Then of course, after she starred in that show, I was hooked. LOVE Alexis AND Joan. I think my favorite movie role from her is the one she did in that movei TALES FROM THE CRYPT. She plays the wife who murders her husband on Christmas Eve for the insurance money. She doesn't realize, however, that a madman has escaped from an institution dressed like Santa Claus. SCARED THE BEJESUS OUTTA ME (still does).

And of course, LOVED her mini-series she did (SINS and the other one MONTE CARLO or MONTE CRISTO, one of them).

Does anyone remember the short-lived Aaron Spelling produced (I think) series called PACIFIC PALISADES?
