Hi! I am new to the board but I love it and love Dynasty.

The first big Krystle & Alexis catfight has always been my favorite. The tension had been mounting between the two for months and this was the inevitable outcome. It is great because they don't just have the fight and leave at that. It helps fuel Alexis' persuit of Mark Jennings and they actually talk about it the next episode.

Which leads me to my question.

Alexis refers to the incident by using the French(?) word, "contra tant." Does anyone know how to spell this?! I love that word and the way she says it. I also found it humorous that she'd try to put a spin on such a knock down drag out fight. I remember putting this episode on closed caption once and I got the spelling but I can no longer find it.

This is not the most interesting first post but it is what it is!

Thanks! smile.gif

Hi Teepop - welcome to the Forum biggrin.gif
I believe the word you are looking for is 'contretemps' - this means quarrel, or agument or disagreement.

You are so right about that scene though...the tension had been building up for so long...and Alexis had it coming biggrin.gif !!! (as always!) It was a great thing to see Krystle not just fight back at her...but win..and silence her in the process!!! whistling.gif

Thanks so much!

That episode just aired last week and it was a blast to watch. I've seen it countless times but I actually noticed something new. Right before Alexis goes down for the count, there is a chair in that area. When they show Alex again on the floor, it is there next to her broken!! Not only did she just collapse but it seems that she took the chair with her. I just found that to be extremely funny!

i'm french. contretemps doesn't mean quarrel at all . it means hitch or mishap.
