I know I am biased because I think that B.K/J.F was the cats whiskers, numero uno, handsome, drop dead gorgeous with a cherry on top,did I mention the ultimate sex god as well.Anyway apart from my feelings on the subject did anyone else think that the guy's they chose to try and lure Krystle away from the big man were all so absolutely AWFUL that they would never have stood a chance !!!!!!!!!!

1. Mark - 1970's hairy,cave dwelling,macho man with medallion to match,with all
the intellect and sophistication of a Pot Noodle (Translation dehydrated
food matter),probably had to knock her over the head with a club and
and drag her to church by her hair in the first place.

2. Matthew - Miserable, moody, sod, real bundle of laughs ! And he mumbled all the
time,I kept shouting at the screen what are you thinking about krystle
you can't even understand a word he says.I remember when he
came back for her after Adams wedding and he held the family
hostage at his old oil well, and he took Krystle into another room
and asked her if she and Blake still made love and did he satisfy her
I wished she'd of slapped his face and said something like oh yes we
make love all the time and he certainly does satisfy me,more than
you ever could !

3. Nick - Smarmy, made your flesh creep, you would never buy a second hand
car off him let alone trust him with your sanity. The kind of guy you
would count your fingers after shaking his hand.

4. Danial - Rude, arrogant so and so who thought just because he had
as much money as Blake he should have Krystle!

What do you think am I right or am I wrong ?

AM I lol_2.gif or thumbdown.gif or just plain wacko.gif

Allegre,

You are absolutely right. I think that the major reason that Dynasty lost so many viewers after the 5th season was that they had no real tension in the Blake/Krystle marriage. Not only were Blake's rivals inane, look at Krystle's rivals: Tracy and Lady Ashley.

Unfortunately, after the 2nd season, Alexis was never really a threat to Krystle. Other than the 7th season story in Singapore, her scenes with Blake were very predictable and it got a little old.

I know that many of the posters on this board are strong B/K fans, but one of the major requirements of great soap opera romance is that you have to have major threats to the marriage in order to make things interesting. After all, if there are no fighting, there is no making up. biggrin.gif

I couldn't agree with you more! I would have loved some more fights between Alexis and Krystle, for Blake to at least admit his attraction to Alexis (I would have loved for them to have an affair), and for there to have been more "making up" scenes...also between Alexis and Dex!

To answer Allegre, Yes Nick creeped me out as well....mostly because of him being a shrink and his very penetrating eyes.
Matthew - also agree..I just never found him attractive, and he was incredibly rude.
Daniel...well I didn't really dislike him...but he wasn't better than Blake (though I'm not sure I'm quite as enthusiastic about Blake as you are).

Mark - what is there to say...I think the reason he looked the way he did is fashion...but he is definitely out of fashion now, though he might not have been at that time.

Hmmm ... to me Dynasty is the best sopa opera romance ever - because there was no cheating and I firmly believe that if Blake would have had an affair with Alexis or whomsoever it would have been very out of character.

I'm glad that John and Linda fought for their characters to stay faithful! wink.gif

Although I would have liked to have seen the ramifications Blake sleep with Alexis in Singapore, I don't think it would have been essential to an interesting storyline. they don't have to actually cheat but they have to be really tempted or else I find it boring.

I felt that the plots involving Mark/Lady Ashley/Daniel, etc... were very predictable and boring because I never believed for a minute that Krystle was going to choose Mark (or Daniel) over Blake. I think it is only entertaining if I really think there is a chance that Blake or Krystle is going to stray--otherwise why have rivals at all?

Well, I propably wouldn't have watched the show if it wasn't for Joan Collins/Alexis...I loved it when she and Krystle had fights..and I guess I just always thought that B/K was I bit too much of the good stuff...I can't handle it!Hehe! I know I'm propably one of the only ones at this forum who didn't "feel it" in all of those fireplace scenes between B/K.
But yes Dynasty is the best soap ever...but I liked the bitchyness of Alexis, Caress and well I just thought it was so camp!

You are not alone on the forum. Although B/K had chemistry, I felt their scenes were too predictable.

I humbly apologize to the rest of the forum.

Krystle you and me girl are definitely singing off the same hymn sheet,I totally agree,B & K's fidelity was so important. To me that was what the whole show was about they were as good, honest, loving and decent as Alexis wasn't.The blacker her character became the whiter they got. They provided the contrast the classic good V evil.I loved all the champagne and candle love scenes but it would have been nice to have more spontaneous stuff as well, especially with Krystle making the first move.

Oh yes Adams Woman you are just about forgiven, but I've got my eye on you ninja.gif lol_2.gif

When I was growing up watching Dynasty I always thought Blake was too old for Krystle. I thought it would be neat for her to have a younger man fall for her. Not one her age, but even younger. It's not that I wanted her to cheat on Blake, I just thought a few heavy kissing scenes with a younger man would be nice. As I have gotten older and rewatched and rewatched and rewatched, etc. Dynasty, I don't look at Blake as that much older than Krystle. I love all of their fireplace scenes, but I wish they could have carried them further. There was only one scene where they were in bed without clothes. I have read though that with Blake and Krystle the writers allowed us to use our imaginations and that was more powerful than anything they could have filmed. Just reading these stories from the fans tells us that! Although the writers made it clear that B and K had a very active sex life. That is one reason neither of them ever strayed. They were both fully satisfied in their marriage.

I LOVE YOU REALLY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! biggrin.gif biggrin.gif wacko.gif

My point of view on Krystle's lovers:
1) Matthew: If Jett Rink (the role of James dean in "Giant") was 40 and married to a woman realeased form a Sanatarium, he would be like Matthew, undoubtedly.
A great character who could have stayed in the show, having the same fate than Jett (finding a lot of oil and becoming extremely rich, but finally being unable to find happiness with the woman he deeply loved).
Instead of Mark, I'd have like Alexis to bring him back to Denver.

2) Mark: As the gigolo of Alexis, Mark was funny, but it's hard to understand how Krystle could have married such a looser. Her sister married a poor man (in all senses) but she was pregnant of Sammy Jo and certainly hadn't a lot of choices. Let's be realistic, a pregnant woman is not very appealling for a man. But what was the reason of Krystle? Trying to escape a terribly oppressive family? Marrying him by default (she loved someone else who didn't want her)?
It should have been explained later. I can't believe that Krystle thought Mark was really a great guy before realizing how pathetical he was. Or if so, it would implied that Mark was really different 15 years ago...

3) Nick: I like his scenes with Fallon and Claudia, but not with Krystle. They seemed "forced" and unconvicing.

4) Daniel: a lot of potential as Sammy Jo's father (I'd have like him to stay because his few scenes with Heather Locklear were really good!). But as Krystle's hypothetical lover, he was less credible. More than Lady Ashley with Blake though!

I think Stephanie Beacham should have been brought in immediately after the cancellation of The Colbys. And isntead of her snuggling up to Krystle as her new best friend, she should have been the threat Jeff thought she was in the last season. Now it was good seeing Blake, Sable, and Dex play three musketeers, but it would have been more interesting if Sable was a threat to Blake and Krsytle's marriage. How would Alexis react to this? Would she allow her cousin to come between Blake and Krystle, or would she encourage it? Would she help her in an attempt to get Blake for herself?

Just a thought.

That would have been a lot of fun to watch. I know that many people loved the 9th season, but I personally think that, except for her scenes with Alexis, Sable was too nice, wasting her obvious talents. Stephanie Beacham is a great actress and would have been a perfect foil for both Alexis and Krystle.
