The Colbys Options

What were the Colbys like I've never seen them , I thought it would be a better show to relase as it could be in one box set as its the later seasons of Dynasty that a best. Also the clothes in the show seem to be much nicer than Dynasty I think Sable was the best dresses female X

I liked The Colbys. I'm probably it's biggest supporter. I thought it was better than Dynasty at times.

In fact, I was hooked at the first scene with all the family efore the press in the yard... and I became Sable-addict... so when I saw that in Dynasty season 9 she will be one of the main character I began to wach it.... just to wait and understand her first appearance!

I really like the Zach-Sable scenes, that's sooooo intense between them, love or hate!

I thought Sable was a more motivated character. On both series, she felt someone had wronged her children, which became her drive.

Alexis, on the other hand, claimed to care for her children, but often dismissed one or the other when one did something against her -- except for Adam. Alexis also used her children. How many times did she say to Adam "which parent accepted you from the beginning?" or to Steven "which parent accepted your lifestyle?"

Alexis became a cartoon character. Just how many times do you go up against Blake. It was JR and Cliff Barnes.

Sable had more depth, she wasn't so one-sided.

My opinion, at least!

As for The Colbys: I liked it better. It wasn't two powers duking it out. It was more than oil. It was space (and I'm not talking the UFO), recording studios, hotels, (though I'd like to have seen Miles involved in some sort of Hollywood deal), it was conflicts within a family, it was who had authority and who didn't (Sable vs. Connie, later Sable vs. Frankie). I like the California setting. The mansion was great. I loved more scenes using the mansion as opposed to the coninuted stock footage Dynasty used (or using other houses).
