Sarah and her husband are Wyoming friends of Dex Dexter's and a terribly tragic event connects her to the Carrington's. 

Her husband and daughter have a serious traffic accident. The husband has died on the spot, while the daughter gives faint signs of life and the doctors do not have much hope in her recovery. At the same time, Krystle and Blake fight another battle for their daughter who has heavy heart troubles and heart transplantation is indispensable. Sarah is in a terrible agony but, with Dex's help, she manages to make the humane decision to let her daughter's heart be transplanted into Krystina Carrington. 

Sarah gets back home and, desperate for the loss of her family, decides to commit suicide by choking in car garage, but gets rescued by Krystle in the last moment. The Carrington's accept Sarah in their house in order to let her recover from heavy depression. However, in Krystina's presence, Sarah suffers ever more for her own daughter, and finally decides to kidnap the girl. 

After a long search, the Carrington's succeed in finding Sarah and Krystina in a rented apartment, and finally rescued the girl who was in a very bad health condition not being recovered yet from the major operation. 

Sarah is getting gradually recovered and, before leaving the Carrington's, she leaves with Krystle for Wyoming to visit her husband's and daughter's grave, facing again the tragic truth that they are dead.
